Regular health checks are the
cornerstone to keeping your pet healthy and comfortable. We
can do much to ensure a long and
happy life for the important furry members of your family. We
recommend you arrange for an annualhealth check and booster
vaccination for your pet.
This annual health check includes
a full physical examination, a dental check up, weighing and
discussing your pet's diet and parasite control. We will also
be happy to discuss any other aspect of your pet's health care
that may be concerning you.

Dental Health
There is no doubt that care of the teeth
and gums can contribute greatly to the comfort and longevity of pets.
Regular dental examinations are an important part of making sure your
pet's teeth and gums are healthy and should be carried out by a vet.
If you notice your pet having difficulty with eating, unpleasant smells
from their mouth or swellings around or in the mouth there is cause
for concern. Lumps may be painful abscesses or even growths.
An examination of the mouth and teeth
forms part of a physical examination of a patient. This examination
will confirm either that the mouth and dentition are normal or that
dental treatment may be necessary. Diseased teeth should be extracted,
the remaining teeth scaled and polished and home dental care started.
| Dietary
Health
Just as our health is so dependent
on our diet, so it is with our pets. An adequate amount of properly
balanced food, offered once or preferably twice daily is essential
for a long and happy life.
We recommend and
sell Science
Diet® for dogs and cats. There are formulations for
various life stages. Growth for kittens and puppies,
Maintenance for adults, Performance
for hard workers and Senior for the mature.
Hills Prescription Diets®
are used as adjunctive treatment for a number illnesses including
obesity.
Please call us to discuss your
pet's dietary needs.

Pets are for life!
|
|
You need to choose your new family member
to suit your accommodation and lifestyle. You need to consider things
like the size of the animal and their temperament. For example, a
large dog in a small house if you are away at work all day could be
inappropriate.
You should also carefully consider where
you obtain your new pet. We have lists of local pet rescue centres,
sanctuaries, and breeders.
Finally, a health examination for your
new or prospective new pet may save many heartaches and headaches
later. Please give us a call and we will be happy to highlight the
important aspects when obtaining your new pet.
